About Saving Old Houses

Saving Old Houses originated as a social media community created to raise awareness of a major problem, the senseless destruction of our historic resources. Determined to give our old houses a voice, SOH discusses the issues, provides information to encourage saving and restoring an old house, shares real estate listings of old houses in need, and, most importantly, works to save endangered historic buildings across the country.  In just over a year, we have become one of the largest online historic preservation communities; a community that firmly believes that "there is no such thing as a teardown"!​
